Mission The  Hermes Research Line aims to advance and develop Machine Translation technology in the following application areas: Spoken Language Systems Document Translation Information Access Latest News In July-August 2006  we will participate in a Summer Workshop at Johns Hopkins University. The goal is to develop and Open Source Toolkit for Statistical Machine Translation. We organized  TC-STAR OpenLab 2006, Trento 30 March - 1 April 2006. OpenLab 2006 was a training initiative of the European Integrated Project TC-STAR.  It promoted research by students and junior researchers around hot topics in speech translation. We did pretty well in an evaluation campaign  organized in 2005 by the International Workshop on Spoken  Language Translation (IWSLT), in Pittsburgh.  See viewgraphs with results and article in La Repubblica (in Italian).
